Going Global: Marketing Your Art Through Social Media
Have you wondered how to expand the audience for your art? Are you curious about Facebook, LinkedIn and blogs? Or would you like answers to other social media questions? This is the workshop for you. Not only will you expand your knowledge of social media but you will leave the workshop having had a hands-on experience in a fun, interactive environment surrounded by a supportive group of fiber artists and friends.
Allison was asked to present the workshop Going Global at Fiberwerkes because of her real-world experience and knowledge of marketing art through social media. Computer technology has been an active part of her life since the early 1970’s. And, the technology that once took over a large, cold room on raised floors now fits onto her cell phone. Almost every single piece of art Allison has ever sold was marketed via electronic media and she conducts daily business exclusively over the Internet. Social media technology is actively changing every day and changing her life as often. Come to her workshop and hear what’s new.
In the marketing world, the term social media refers to the use of web-based and mobile technologies to turn communication activities into an interactive dialogue in order to reach a larger community of buyers and those who appreciate fiber art. Social media takes many different forms among them are blogs and micro-blogs (e.g. Twitter), content communities (e.g. YouTube) and social networking sites (e.g. Facebook).
