Nationally known fiber artist, Leslie Jenison will be the featured speaker for the Austin Fiber Artists on August 21, during the regular monthly meeting.
Her lecture is: “The Journey IS The Destination”
She will also be the featured speaker at the San Antonio Fiber Artist meeting in San Antonio in September.
Leslie Tucker Jenison & Jamie Fingal will be teaching a collaborative painting class, “Painting With A Twist & Shout“, in Houston on October 29th during the International Quilt Festival!

The Austin Fiber Artists organization has been accepted to have a show at the Dougherty Arts Museum. Members have submitted their original Fiber art pieces for jury selection. The show will go up August 1 at the downtown City of Austin museum. Check back here for more information on the dates for the opening reception.
If you’re a member of the Austin Fiber Artists or the Fiber Artists of San Antonio, it’s time to renew your membership! Both of these groups are part of the Texas State wide group of Federation of Fiber Artists.
Remember if you’re a member of one of the Federation groups, you’re eligible to participate in the other group’s activities. In the fall, the Fiber Artists of San Antonio will be having their annual fall show. Members in the Houston Area Fiber Artists or the Austin Fiber Artists are can submit their entries without having to join a second group, any jury fees or other entrance fees would still have to be paid however!
If you travel to San Antonio or Austin or Houston, be sure and check out the website and attend the monthly meetings if you’re in the area. It’s a great way to meet new Fiber Artists throughout the state of Texas. You might also have an opportunity to listen to a great Fiber Art speaker or see a hands-on demo.
