Another meeting is being planned by the newly forming East Texas Fiber Artists (Eastsiders). There was great excitement from the last meeting as the group discussed holding the first exhibit of fiber work in 2013. Twelve fiber artists were at the initial meeting.
The next fiber art meeting will be held at the home of Kathy Wood at 10:00 AM on June 2nd, 2012.
The meeting will be over lunch so be sure to bring your pot luck salad dish.
The group will also be an opportunity to show your UFO’s to others and get some great ideas on possible ways finish the fiber pieces.

All artists working with fiber in some type of medium, from quilts to garments to wall hangings at all levels from beginner to advanced are welcome to attend!
The Fiber Artists of San Antonio fashion show for 2012 will be this Saturday May 12, 2012.
The event will also feature fiber art vendors, a silent auction and a raffle. The vendors will be selling a wide variety of clothing styles and designs and is definitely not to be missed.
Fashion show tickets are currently sold out, however, the vendors area is open to the public. Also, all garments included in the fashion show will be available for purchase after the end of the event. Even if you missed out purchasing a ticket, there are opportunities to see the great work created by Fiber Artists of San Antonio members.
The fashion show will be held at the Oak Hills Country Club, 5403 Fredericksburg Road, San Antonio. The fashion show garments, and the vendor area will open again after the end of the fashion show at approximately 1:00 o’clock.
This is one great event to attend!

Fashion Extravaganza Around the World
This event returns again for another Fashion Extravaganza featuring one-of-a-kind wearable art garments created by member artists of the Fiber Artists of San Antonio. All kinds of fashions are shown from jackets to dresses, clothing accessories to hats. Tickets for this event which includes a sit down lunch are available through FASA member Phyllis at 830-964-5242. Ticket sales for non-FASA members went on sale March 1st.
Some of the techniques used in the garments include deconstructed screen printing, Shibori, complex cloth, embellishments and felting. Many of the garments will be offered for sale after the event.
A vendors area will also be a part of the event offering unique hand-crafted items as well as fiber related supplies. A raffle and silent auction are also planned.
Proceeds from the event will benefit local San Antonio designated charities. The Fiber Artists of San Antonio is a 501 3(c) organization.
The Dallas Fiber Artists announces the annual show at “The Point” from April 3, 2012 to April 23, 2012.
The reception is April 23, 2012 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
