According to Weather.Com, the forecast is for mostly sunny skies on Friday, February 24th when two of our local fiber artists are opening their studios for you to visit — Alice Kolb and Susie Monday.
Even if you are not attending the Texas Federation of Fiber Artists Conference in Kerrville, you are welcome to stop and visit.
In Kerrville, Evelyn Hickey of 1550 Gallery is opening the new gallery specifically for TFFA members and you might also enjoy James Avery Headquarters. Make a full day of studio visits.

The exhibit has been hung and it’s an exciting show! There is a wide variety of exciting fiber art!
If you have an opportunity, by all means go to the Hill Country Arts Foundation – it hangs until February 25th. The show will come down on Sunday morning to give participating conference artists to opportunity to pick up their work.
Be sure and allowed extra time to view the exhibit! The juror was Kathyanne White who will also be teaching a workshop at the conference.

When was the last time you visited Kerrville TX?
You’ve never been here – surely that can’t be so. Whether you are a new or returning visitor to the hills of Texas, even in the dead of winter it’s a beautiful place to visit. As an artist, you will have the opportunity to view the trees as they expose their skeleton-structure, watch the deer wander freely across the terrain and laugh as the ducks as they bob for food in the Guadalupe River.
Fiberwerkes 2012 is loaded with conference related activities but should you wish to explore the area on the way to the TFFA Conference or perhaps, on the way home, we have provided you with a list of Fun Things to Do in the area. Also there included is a map with a list of Hill Country towns and links to the Chamber of Commerce websites for additional information and travel ideas.
On your way into town, remember to stop at the studios of Susie Monday in Pike Creek and Alice Klob in Fredericksburg who have generously opened their creative spaces for you to explore. Oh … and don’t forget your sketchbook and camera. There are beautiful sites to capture for future inspirational projects. See you soon!
